Insurance-based retirement plans

Insurance-based retirement plans (IBRP) may be able to protect your family’s future through a death benefit while you save for retirement with the same product.

As your personal situations change (i.e., marriage, birth of a child or job promotion), so do your life insurance needs. Care should be taken to ensure your strategies and products are suitable for your long-term life insurance needs. Weigh your objectives, time horizon and risk tolerance as well as any associated costs before investing.

Also, be aware that market volatility can lead to the possibility of the need for additional premium in your policy.

Life insurance fees and charges associated with plans include costs of insurance that vary with such characteristics of the insured as sex, health and age, underlying fund charges and expenses, and additional charges for riders that customize a policy to fit your individual needs.

Retirement is a “four-letter” word

Yes, i am 65.  How often have folks asked me if I am going to “retire?”  That question irks me.  In fact, the more I think about the purpose & meaning of work, the more I’m convinced that the notion of retirement destroys our sense of purpose and health more than most anything. It’s detrimental.

English. Help us now

If teachers taught, why didn’t preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell?

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites? You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which, an alarm goes off by going on.

English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race, which, of course, is not a race at all. That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible.

PS. – Why doesn’t ‘Buick’ rhyme with ‘quick

I Need to Prepare in Case I Need Long-Term Care

People are living longer. Medical costs are rising. Help cover your future healthcare costs with long-term care insurance.

To meet this need – and if you have a need for long-term life insurance – you may be most interested in products that allow you to purchase long-term care coverage (known as a rider) at an additional cost.

Long-term care insurance can help pay for home health care or nursing home costs. The insured person must meet certain qualifying conditions and a waiting period before benefits will be paid.

Talk to your insurance professional to learn whether it makes sense for you to get long-term care coverage along with a life insurance policy.
